Calgary ADHD Walks

ADHD is an area of special interest for us, and we believe interaction with natural spaces is incredibly valuable for those dealing with attentive disorders.

On ADHD walks we will discuss some of the challenges and benefits of living with attentive disorders, along with the ways engaging in natural spaces can be beneficial. While ADHD is by definition described in terms of a "deficit" of attention, those who experience attentive disorders are often very aware that the reality of there is often an abundance of attention.

What we're not often aware of is how understimulated we often are in our day-to-day environments.

Available to clients in and around the Calgary area ADHD walks are designed to demonstrate how drastic the differences are between the surroundings we experience every day and those we evolved to survive in, and to demonstrate techniques to activate brain functions that are chronically underused.

We use natural environments to engage the brain's visual functions, map making, balance, depth cues and more, utilizing many of the brain's regions and functions implicated in AHDH.

We'll look at the way we process sensory information, motor functions engaged in complex environments, depth perception, mental map-making, and demonstrate techniques for more deeply engaging these functions in a natural environment

ADHD Walks are not a means to diagnose or treat attentive disorders, the goal is to provide an engaging and informative sensory experience and look at the core functions of regions of the brain implicated in ADHD.
